Thanks to your feedback and our on-site visits, here’s the latest on course conditions:
October 7
HERITAGE ISLES, TPC TAMPA BAY, SKYVIEW, COUNTRYSIDE CC – All 4 of these clubs received multiple high marks for course condition this week. I can highly recommend playing any of these four clubs if you have the opportunity to play at them.
SILVERTHORN – has been reported to be much improved, particularly the center line of the golf course, tees, greens and fairways.
October 2
TPC TAMPA BAY – Member Richard C wrote to tell us that TPC Tampa Bay is the best conditioned golf course in all of Tampa Bay. Tees, Greens, Fairways you name it, all top drawer. CHI CHI RODRIGUEZ also received high marks from Joey F. He thinks that for the money, Chi Chi’s is tops in the market.
September 23 AND 25
Plantation Palms was most mentioned this week by members with ever improving conditions. Copperhead has also received accolades for excellent conditions.
September 16 AND 18
SKYVIEW – Once again Skyview at Citrus Hills makes the list as one of the best conditioned courses on the program. In addition to the conditions, the staff, the layout and overall hospitality are second to none – a must play
SOUTHERN HILLS – The golf course gets a A+ for course condition. Greens rolled very well although the rough was extra tough! Since the course is strictly private now, accessing at an excellent rate through our Paradise events is the way to go!
SEMINOLE LAKE – continues to get many accolades. A must play given the vast number of positive reviews.
COUNTRYWAY – this executive golf course has recently renovated its greens to paspalum. It is a fun and inexpensive course and worthy of a trip around it. The greens renovation should be healed up in a couple weeks time.
September 11
HUNTINGTON HILLS OF LAKELAND, the newest addition to the Florida Golf Trail family of clubs has been reported to be in very good condition. Hole #3 might be on the testiest par 4’s in the greater Tampa area. Definitely a must play golf course.
September 2
LAKE JOVITA SOUTH - in very good condition. Greens rolled very roll and received ball well. There were no cart path restrictions for the Labor Day event so course drains well!
TIMBER GREENS - once again garners nothing but great comments – a must play!
SEMINOLE LAKE – also another bunch of fabulous remarks about conditioning
MANGROVE BAY – new to the top condition list – always in great shape and a true gem of a course
August 26
We have repeat mentions of courses that seem to be emailed to me weekly by Paradise members. These courses are in no particular order: Timber Greens, Seminole Lake, Skyview at Citrus Hills, Glen Lakes, and TPC Tampa Bay. Member for a day clubs Carrollwood and Plantation in Venice have been reviewed highly.
August 19
LEXINGTON OAKS – Visited August 18. Vastly improved since my last visit over two years ago. Weed-free conditions, grass growing where there were issues, smooth greens, renovated practice and chipping greens, improved greens complexes, new cart paths on 13 holes, and a refreshed clubhouse. With rates in the $60s, our $5 discount adds great value. A must-play now that they’re back with Paradise Golf.
HERNANDO OAKS – Visited August 20. Overall in very good condition. Greens were aerified last week with small tines and should be fully healed in about a week.
SILVERTHORN – Visited August 20. Tees, fairways, and greens are in good condition. Rough and surrounds are less attractive, but the main playing areas are solid.
FOX HOLLOW – Reports indicate tee box renovations on several holes, with more improvements planned. Despite the work, no members have reported negative effects on playability other than playing shorter yardages. Always one of our most favored clubs.
August 12
Carrollwood CC and Temple Terrace GC are both in good condition and improving.
Hernando Oaks is much improved, though greens were recently aerified. Best to wait a week.
Saddlebrook Resort renovations are progressing well. One nine is open in fabulous condition. Paradise Summer members can play for $20 (9 holes) or $30 (18 holes)
Dunedin GC and Heritage Isles continue in excellent shape, though Heritage has recently aerified.
Seminole Lake also continues to earn high marks.
August 5
Southern Hills – As usual, in fabulous condition with a scenic layout and elevation changes. A must-play! (Thanks to member Steve H.)
July 29
TPC TAMPA BAY – Recently aerated (small tines), putting remains excellent. Great overall shape. (Thanks to member Matthew S.)
TIMBER GREENS – In fantastic shape! Short but fun and challenging. (Thanks to Jerry C.)

SEMINOLE LAKE – Fantastic condition – must play!
CHI CHI RODRIGUEZ – Great condition and a strategic layout.
HERITAGE ISLES – 80% bunker renovation completed last year – still playing awesome!
DUNEDIN GC – Recently renovated with excellent greens – be ready to putt!
SKYVIEW AT CITRUS HILLS – Top-notch condition and great layout – worth the drive!
PLANTATION PALMS – Consistently excellent, diverse, and challenging layout.
