TEMPLE TERRACE UPDATE

Director of Golf James Fredericks wants you to come out and experience their newly renovated greens and enjoy summer rates at historic Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club. As of today, July 22nd, only one of their holes still features a temporary green, but the remainder of the course is lush and dry and ready for play. Below are Temple Terrace's summer rates until the end of August 2026

• Weekdays (Tuesday-Thursday): $60am. $50pm.
• Weekends (Friday-Sunday): $65am. $55 pm.
• Rates are plus tax and can be booked 7 days in advance
• The golf course is closed Mondays through August.

THE PARADISE GOLF TRIPLE CROWN HAS NOW BECOME AN INDIVIDUAL EVENT PLAY DAY

The Triple Crown event has now become a weekend of two rounds of golf in two great tracks. We will be playing the fabulous Skyview at Citrus Hills on Saturday and the Ranch Course at Black Diamond on Sunday. There's no requierement to play in both events, each event will still be a quota game. We will have the ability to sign up and register to each event by Friday July 24th. In the mean time, please email playdays@paradise-golf.com if you're interested in playing one or both of these days.

• August 8 – Skyview Course (Tee Times starting at 10AM)
• August 9 – Ranch Course (Tee Times starting at 8AM)

It all comes down to where the penalty area is located and the relief options available to you.

Under the Rules of Golf, both red and yellow stakes mark Penalty Areas (formerly known as water hazards). If your ball enters either area and you choose to take relief, you'll incur a one-stroke penalty. You can also play the ball as it lies if it's safe and allowed.

Yellow Stakes (Yellow Penalty Areas)

Yellow stakes typically mark hazards that cross in front of the fairway or green, requiring you to hit over them.

If your ball enters a yellow penalty area, your relief options are:

• Stroke and Distance – Replay your previous shot.
• Back-on-the-Line Relief – Identify where your ball last crossed the edge of the penalty area, then drop anywhere on an imaginary line extending straight back from the hole through that point.

Red Stakes (Lateral Penalty Areas)

Red stakes usually mark hazards that run alongside a hole, such as lakes, ditches, or wooded areas.

You have the same two relief options as yellow stakes, plus one additional option:

• Stroke and Distance
• Back-on-the-Line Relief
• Lateral Relief – Drop within two club-lengths of where your ball last crossed into the penalty area, no closer to the hole.

Pro Tip: Red and yellow stakes are considered movable obstructions. If one interferes with your stance or swing, you may temporarily remove it without penalty—just remember to replace it afterward.
