COPPERHEAD PLAY DAY A BIG HIT!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the June 16 Copperhead Play Day! With 25 groups participating, the event was a tremendous success. Members praised the course conditions, especially the greens, and most groups completed their rounds in just over four hours.

Our next Copperhead Play Day is scheduled for Friday, August 21. We hope to see you there!

• History: The original sterling silver trophy was created in 1895, but it was permanently destroyed in a 1946 fire while being held by champion Lloyd Mangrum at his home course in Illinois.
• Current Version: The trophy presented today is an exact replica of the original first awarded by the United States Golf Association (USGA), and was officially introduced in 1947.
• Design: It stands 18 inches tall, weighs 8.5 pounds, and features a winged figure of Victoria, the Goddess of Victory, on the lid.
• Possession: The champion holds the real trophy for one year before returning it, but they receive a permanent gold medal (the Jack Nicklaus Medal) and can purchase a replica for themselves.

COURSE CONDITION UPDATES

As part of maintaining top playing conditions throughout the summer, several partner clubs will be completing their scheduled aerification and maintenance programs over the coming months. We encourage all members to review the current aerification schedule before booking tee times so you can plan accordingly.
